Some love stories begin in the most unexpected places, and for Elicia and Lancelot, their journey started with a simple tweet. Their first contact was virtual – through Twitter, now X – and what began as casual digital exchanges blossomed into a heartfelt romance. A Wedding Rooted in Meaning and Design
Elicia and Lancelot’s wedding was a reflection of who they are: thoughtful, creative, and deeply connected to the essence of their love. The couple envisioned a cozy, intimate celebration, one that would embrace the natural beauty of their surroundings while keeping the atmosphere warm and inviting. They found the perfect venue, HAUS217, where natural light flooded the space, and the organic textures resonated with their idea of a wabi-sabi-inspired design.
When we first did our site recce, we really fell in love with the natural light during the day and the wabi-sabi vibes.
Elicia
With 80 guests in attendance, the venue’s intimate and beautifully curated atmosphere created a warm and memorable experience.

A Bride’s Creative Touch: Designing Her Own Gowns
As a creative in the fashion industry, Elicia took on the remarkable challenge of designing her own wedding gowns under her label, Studio Cia (@studio.cia).
After being in the fashion industry for quite a while, I wanted my wedding designs to reflect my creative journey by incorporating a balance of timeless and modular design elements.
Elicia
The process of designing her gowns was deeply personal. Elicia spent a year conceptualising her looks, selecting deadstock fabrics, and exploring innovative design features. One standout element was the detachable ‘wings’ on her ROM gown, which allowed her to switch up her bridal look. Despite the intricacies of the design process, Elicia thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The creative process was honestly enjoyable, as I had the rare opportunity to explore various concepts for my wedding!
Elicia

For future brides considering designing their own gowns, Elicia offers one key piece of advice:
Yes, definitely, but always start early! You wouldn’t want to rush the design of your wedding gown. Take your time to explore various design directions and see which one resonates with you the most.

A Floral Story That Bridged Two Celebrations
The attention to design extended far beyond the wedding gown. Together with Zhi Xin of Eve Keepers (@eve.keepers), Elicia and Lancelot crafted a floral narrative that beautifully tied their pre-wedding shoot and wedding day together.
Zhi Xin recalls the excitement she felt when Elicia, with her strong sense of design, gave her creative freedom.
Having the bride design and hand-make her own gowns was truly the highlight of the pre-wedding shoot and wedding. We were thrilled when Elicia gave us the creative freedom to craft a bouquet beyond the usual style.
Zhi Xin, @eve.keepers
For the pre-wedding shoot at the National Gallery, Zhi Xin curated a bouquet of long-stemmed florals in deep purple – a hue Elicia loved, which serendipitously complemented Lancelot’s military uniform. The unexpected harmony of colours created a striking visual, tying their shoot together in an elegant yet effortless way. In addition to this, Zhi Xin also crafted a second bouquet for Elicia – one that embodied a softer, dreamier aesthetic with a delicate interplay of pastel blooms and airy textures, allowing her to have distinct floral expressions for different moments of their pre-wedding journey.

The floral theme took a softer, more delicate approach on the wedding day. Zhi Xin crafted a cascading bouquet featuring purple water lily and yellow moth orchid, a striking yet graceful combination symbolising transformation and new beginnings. Meanwhile, the floral setup by Vynella Events (@vynellaevents) transformed HAUS217 into an intimate spring garden, enhancing the warm, organic atmosphere the couple envisioned.
Zhi Xin shares practical advice for couples planning a pre-wedding shoot:
Discuss with the photographer which locations you prefer. Consider weather conditions, time of the day for lighting, and even practical details like changing outfits and parking. Share your photoshoot duration and locations with your floral stylist so they can design a suitable bouquet. Trust your vendors to make the right decisions and stay open-minded for adjustments.
Zhi Xin, @eve.keepers

Memorable Moments from the Celebration
While the beauty of the wedding was undeniable, it was the unexpected moments that truly made the day unforgettable. One of the most entertaining was the gatecrash ceremony, where Elicia’s bridesmaids live-streamed the entire event, allowing her to join in the fun from afar.
It was so entertaining to watch! That segment was when we really started to feel the ‘wedding feelings.
Elicia

The vow exchange, however, was a surprise even for the couple.
The segment got jumbled and pushed up way earlier than expected. It caught us both off guard, but in a way, it made us more vulnerable when we exchanged vows. I cried way more than expected, and the Internet’s hack of using cotton earbuds as tissue did not work in this case!
Elicia
Despite the unexpected timing, their vows felt even more meaningful and intimate, reflecting their raw emotions in that moment.

A Thoughtful Curation of Wedding Details
Elicia and Lancelot meticulously selected their wedding vendors, ensuring each contributed to the day’s seamless beauty. Their photography team, Luma Film (@lumafilmsg), was a standout choice.
Our photog team—Luma! Amazing team and amazing visuals. We definitely have no regrets about working with the rest of our vendors; they really transformed our wedding day into THAT special day for both of us!
Elicia

From their wedding cake by Field Note (@fieldnotessg) to the wedding favours provided by HAUS217 (@haus217sg), every element was thoughtfully chosen to align with their vision. Lancelot looked dapper in his suit from Old Fashion House (@tofh_sg), while Elicia’s bridal beauty was perfected by makeup artist Fish (@feautte.makeup).

Reflections and Advice for Future Brides and Grooms
While their wedding was an unforgettable experience, Elicia and Lancelot acknowledge that external influences played a role in their planning process.
If we could change one thing, it would be to have no external opinions, not even from our families! We should have done our wedding 100% our way instead of hearing too many opinions and getting pressured by them.
Elicia

Their advice for engaged couples?
Honestly, have fun and enjoy the process together with your partner.
Elicia & Lancelot
With an estimated wedding cost of approximately $25K, the couple’s wedding was a testament to thoughtful planning, creative expression, and a deep appreciation for meaningful details. Their journey, from a Twitter connection to a beautifully curated celebration, is a reminder that weddings are not just about the aesthetic but also about embracing every moment authentically.
