When an architect marries a banker, you might expect clean lines, good decisions, and a shared appreciation for what’s essential. BW and B delivered exactly that with a wedding that proves simplicity, when done intentionally, can be its own quiet luxury.

There’s something refreshingly honest about a couple who admits they chose their wedding venue mainly because it was near their home. There were no elaborate venue-hunting stories or destination wedding drama. BW and B knew that Claudine’s cathedral-like architecture was already beautiful enough and needed little else. Sometimes, the most sophisticated choice is simply recognising what is already excellent.

Their wedding on 12 October 2025 brought together 100 guests, a perfectly balanced mix of family and friends, with relatives travelling from Malaysia, the Philippines, and the United States. The celebration they designed reflected their relationship in three words: effortless, aligned, and loving. Or, as they described their wedding style: “whisper of the wild, relaxed, quiet magic.”

Building a Wedding from the Ground Up

That quiet magic started long before the day itself. As an architect, BW approached wedding planning with the same clarity she brings to spatial design. The three-month planning period was never frantic; it was focused. “Wedding is for yourself, do what you love and what you have always wished for,” she advises, and that philosophy shaped every decision.

The couple met through Coffee Meets Bagel, and their relationship has always been characterised by simplicity and genuineness. When B proposed, it was not a grand public gesture. Instead, it was dinner at home, just the two of them. “We are very low profile who do not like surprises and crowded celebrations,” BW explains. “It was kind of warm and the simplest thing should be the perfect way to go.”

Naturally, that same intimacy carried into the wedding day. They skipped the traditional “expected” moments (no cake cutting, no first dance), choosing instead to be fully present with the people they love. Their choices created a celebration that didn’t need theatrics to feel meaningful.

The Atmosphere of Intention

And that intention was felt immediately as guests stepped into Claudine. The mood was exactly what BW and B envisioned: relaxed, fresh, and deeply inviting. The restaurant’s soaring architecture did most of the work, allowing minimal decoration to feel intentional rather than sparse. It was a space that asked guests to slow down, look around, and simply be.

BW’s planning resources were just as understated: Instagram research, instinct, and complete trust in her vendors. No elaborate spreadsheets, no hyper-structured planning tools. It was just a clear vision paired with the right people to bring it to life.

Creating Something Out of the Ordinary

This naturally led to one of the day’s most defining elements: the florals. For BW, choosing Jayvan from Owls Studio was “a no-brainer”; his work already harmonised effortlessly with Claudine’s warm, neutral palette. Despite the seemingly simple brief, the result was rich, layered, and quietly dramatic. It is no wonder florals was the wedding element the couple were most glad they splurged on.

Jayvan, who has spent 10 years in the wedding industry, specialises in “creating something out of the ordinary in the market.” Owls Studio handled the overarching floral vision, while his floral partners Dedron Flowers and Addie Flower executed the details on the day. It’s a workflow that blends imaginative design with impeccable on-site precision.

When asked how couples can communicate their vision, Jayvan keeps it straightforward: “Show us what you like from your wedding plans or mood board, reference or the work we’ve done before.” In other words, clarity doesn’t need to be complicated.

Capturing Quiet Certainty

That same clarity guided photographer Xiuwen from Morii Space, whose perspective on the day mirrors the couple’s own intention. “The day felt deeply intentional and filled with so much heartfelt moments,” she shares. “As a wedding photographer, I was genuinely inspired by the thoughtful design, the character of the space at Claudine, and the lush floral artistry that transformed the venue.”

But what moved her most were the moments of emotional truth beneath the beautifully styled surface. “During their vow exchange, the way they looked at each other gave me absolute goosebumps. You could feel their certainty and the quiet strength in the way they supported one another. It was one of those rare moments where the entire room seemed to pause.”

She recalls other small, tender gestures too, like the bride’s sister adjusting BW’s veil before the ceremony. “It was simple, but incredibly meaningful. A quiet act of love that said everything about their family.”

Building a Life Beyond the Day

And when asked about the “&” that continues beyond their wedding day, BW and B answered in a way consistent with everything about them: simple, sincere, and unembellished. Their wish is “to grow old tirelessly together.” No dramatic promises, no grand declarations, just a steady vision of partnership.

For couples feeling the pressure to perform or perfect their wedding, BW and B’s celebration is a reminder that intention can be its own form of luxury. Magic doesn’t always appear in bold strokes. Sometimes it arrives in a whisper, in choices made quietly, in trust placed intentionally, and in a love that doesn’t need to announce itself to be felt.
